FACILITY MANAGEMENT TRAINING

This 20-hour course takes students on a deep dive into the world of facility management.We learn the components of effective real estate master plans, discover the benefits and drawbacks of owned and leased properties, understand the diverse environment and structures in which facility management is required, and learn to develop facility management plans and deliverables.We learn the management of leased spaces, costing and life-cycle replacement of major equipment, providing quality and performance management reports to clients, managing vendors and projects, and developing environmentally-sustainable strategies.We review management of emergencies, fire safety planning, security of facilities and control of traffic, deliveries, and parking. We review housekeeping and maintenance services – including development of a Preventative Maintenance plan, systems designed to improve response times to and tracking of Demand maintenance request.We learn how to manage your facility workforce – from shipping staff to administrative professionals, we look at hiring, performance development, and retention strategies employed by successful facilities managers aimed at keeping your employees longer and working better.This course prepares students for several IFMA certification tests.
